BRAIN Dealer Tour Hits Philly

Published May 31, 2011

PHILADELPHIA, PA (BRAIN)—Bicycle Retailer & Industry News editors and sponsors are rolling out this morning to begin a three-day bike tour of Philadelphia and New Jersey shops.

Over the next three days, BRAIN staff and sponsors will personally visit a dozen retailers in this vibrant urban cycling market. Editors will talk with storeowners about the local cycling culture, the state of specialty retail, and if they are seeing sales breaking this spring.

The Philadelphia Dealer Tour will start today in the Philly suburbs. It will then cross the Delaware River to visit stores in New Jersey. It will wrap up the final day with visits to retailers in some of the downtown area’s colorful urban stores.

Sponsors Advanced Sports Inc., Campagnolo, Interbike and Gore will join BRAIN staff to canvas the city, visiting its diverse specialty retailers. Sponsor company representatives will have a unique opportunity to engage in discussion with retail storeowners and gain an understanding of each dealer’s unique perspective.

“We are very happy that BRAIN’s Dealer Tour will highlight the vibrancy of the Philadelphia bicycle industry and culture,” said Pat Cunnane, president of Advanced Sports Inc. “Philadelphia has more bike commuters that any major U.S. city. I look forward for our industry to see what we Philadelphians already know: this is a great place to ride a bike, race a bike, commute by bike, or just enjoy the camaraderie of other cyclists.”

The Philadelphia Dealer Tour begins today and wraps up Friday. Be sure to check back here for daily online coverage. You can also follow along with the Tour on Twitter at www.twitter.com/bicycleretailer and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/bicycleretailer (click on above link).
