BURLINGTON, Ontario (BRAIN)—German lock brand Trelock has entered the North American market with a subsidiary near Toronto.

The company, located in Münster, Germany, manufactures bicycle locks, lighting systems and computers exclusively through IBDs. The products are distributed in more than 40 countries in Europe and Asia. With the new Trelock North America, Trelock starts off with a selective dealers’ concept on the Canadian bicycle accessories market.

Director Joachim Winkler is optimistic about the
market set-up in Canada. “The IBD here in Canada will be able to earn money with Trelock,” he said. Trelock services retailers in Canada from its warehouse and with its own sales force. The regions of Quebec and Ontario are already assigned with additional regions to follow. Dealers have access to extensive support through the brand manufacturer for point of sales material and advertising. Trelock has created a dealers’ concept to offer promotional materials, exclusive products and high quality sales support for dealers joining the club.
