PDW Hires Sales Manager

Published February 18, 2011

PORTLAND, OR (BRAIN)—Portland Design Works has hired Kevin Murphy as their new sales manager.

"We have some new products for 2011 that will explode your mind grapes, and we needed a new member on the PDW crew in order to keep our growing dealer base in the loop,” said PDW co-founder and product manager Erik Olson. "Kevin has experience working directly with dealers throughout the U.S. He's a relationship-oriented person and knows how to help dealers bring in the right product for their shop. Plus he fits in with PDW’s culture and that was important to [co-founder] Dan Powell and me.”

Murphy, a 2006 MBA graduate from the University of Wisconsin, has numerous years of both shop level and manufacturer experience in the industry. Prior to joining PDW, he spent several years as the U.S. sales manager for Portland-based cycling outerwear maker, Showers Pass.

"Coming on board at PDW is an exciting opportunity that will allow me to work with some of the smartest urban cycling products out there. It’s an easy brand to fall in love with," Murphy said, an avid on and off road cyclist. "If we can make products that help enable people to ride more often, we have done our job. PDW gets that idea and it excites me to be a part of the team."
