Zipp Adds South African Distributor

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (BRAIN)—Cape Cycle Systems (Pty) Ltd of Cape Town, South Africa, is the new authorized distributor of Zipp products in the South African market.

Cape Cycle will handle marketing, warehousing, dealer sales, customer service, and warranty service for South Africa, one of the largest cycling and triathlon markets. Cape Cycle will carry the full line of Zipp products including U.S.-made carbon fiber wheels along with bars, stems, seatposts, cranksets, tires and accessories.

“We’re very excited to bring on Cape Cycle as our dedicated distributor for South Africa,” said John Dixon, director of Zipp sales for Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, in a press release. “Their investment in expanding operations to support the brand in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and throughout the country is very compelling. Also, in the last 18 months SRAM has experienced explosive growth into this market. The synergy between the Zipp and SRAM brands cannot be underestimated.”

Cape Cycle Systems (Pty) Ltd is a 22-year-old distributor of high-end bike components. It also distributes product from brands such as SRAM, RockShox, Avid, Truvativ, Camelbak, Park Tool, Finish Line Technologies, VP Components, Use, Jagwire, Novatec and Kool-Stop.
