SEATTLE, WA (BRAIN)—Steve Dempsey has joined Mad Fiber as director of sales, bringing more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the bike, fitness and outdoor industries to the quickly growing, manufacturer of high performance carbon fiber bicycle wheels.

Dempsey was previously director of sales for Full Speed Ahead, where his responsibilities included management of both aftermarket and OEM sales. At Mad Fiber, Dempsey will be putting that experience to work as the company expands their product line to include a carbon clincher wheelset, and increases capacity and price points to enter the OEM market, according to a press release.

Russ Riggins, Mad Fiber COO, said that hiring Dempsey was an easy decision. “Steve comes to us with a wealth of prior sales management experience, and is the perfect addition to our team as we invest in increased production capacity and expand into international and OEM sales while introducing a clincher wheel and other new products that will dramatically increase our sales volume and business size," Riggins said. "His skills and work ethic will help Mad Fiber grow and ensure that all of our customers receive the high level of service and support that they all deserve.”

For Dempsey’s part, the chance to join the dynamic, rapid-growth environment of a new business couldn’t be missed. “Joining Mad Fiber is a great opportunity; they have exceptional technology, an excellent product team, and experienced business management. In combination this makes for a remarkable market opportunity. I think just about everyone in the bike industry wants to do well in their careers while also doing their part to improve the cycling experience. At Mad Fiber, I definitely get that chance.”

Dempsey’s tenure began on October 4 with Dempsey focused on working with current Mad Fiber retailers and distributors while developing relationships with additional domestic IBDs and building on Mad Fiber’s customer service and sales capabilities.
