Ryders Hires New Director of Marketing

NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN)—Ryders Eyewear has hired Tara Wilkinson as its new director of marketing.

As the new director of marketing for Ryders Eyewear, Wilkinson is able to combine her business acumen with her love of sports and outdoor activities. Wilkinson previously served as vice president of business strategy at Shoppers Drug Mart; director of marketing at A&B Sound and as a consultant at Bain & Company, according to a press release. Most recently, Wilkinson was a principal consultant to mid-sized companies in the retail and consumer product sector. Wilkinson is an avid outdoor sports enthusiast who counts trail running, cycling, scuba diving and skiing among her passions.

“Tara brings with her a wealth of knowledge in consumer products, retailing and strategic planning,” said company president James Murray. “Our marketing team is a truly creative kitchen and Tara is bringing a whole new range of flavors to the table. Tara joins us as we prepare to celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2011 and with her leadership we’ll be able to take Ryders to a whole new level.”

“2010 has been an explosive year for Ryders,” said Wilkinson. “We are firing on all cylinders in product development and marketing, so I hope to maximize on the momentum.”

This year, over 20 new styles of sunglasses were introduced, while the entire snow goggle line was redesigned. Additionally, the company’s downhill bike goggle program will be unveiled at this summer’s Outdoor Retailer.
