Industry Stepping up for DealerCamp

Published April 28, 2010

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA (BRAIN)—Lifeboat Events says registration for DealerCamp is on track for a filled event, with more than a dozen strong brands on board and many targeted retail shops already signed up to attend.

This mid-summer expo and demo event for bicycle suppliers and retailers takes place July 29–31, 2010, at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah.

Confirmed exhibiting brands include BH Bikes, BMC Racing, Crankbrothers, Freedom by WTB, GORE RideOn Cable Systems, Ibis Cycles, Marin, Pivot Cycles, QBP, Ridley, Scott USA, Shimano and WTB. Many other companies have expressed strong interest in showcasing their 2011 products at the event. Exhibitors are enthusiastic about DealerCamp’s manageable format, prime location and mid-summer timing.

“DealerCamp is a great new opportunity for the industry,” said Chris Cocalis, president/CEO of Pivot Cycles/BH USA. “We’re looking forward to a focused audience of the country’s top retailers, a terrific setting, better timing and being able to show off our exciting new products in a more positive and cycling-friendly environment than the typical tradeshow.”

All qualified retailers are welcome to attend DealerCamp. There is no entry fee.

Hill Abell of Bicycle Sport Shop in Austin, Texas, was one of the first retailers to register. “DealerCamp is a unique concept for the bike industry, and I look forward to participating this year,” Abell said. “The opportunity to interact with an array of industry vendors and demo their new product in a fantastic setting like Deer Valley is sure to be a hit.”

Patrick Fetzer of Laguna Beach Cyclery is also excited about the event. “Why are we going to DealerCamp? It’s easy,” Fetzer said. “It’s the perfect break in the middle of summer to get out of the shop, have some great rides, see new product and learn which way the industry is headed.”

One hundred lucky retailers, selected with exhibitor input, are receiving free lodging and a travel subsidy to attend the event. In addition, non-subsidized retailers who register by April 30 will be entered to win free lodging for three nights at the Park City Marriott during DealerCamp. One winner will be chosen at random.

“We’re seeing really great momentum for DealerCamp, proving that this is something the industry has been wanting,” said Lance Camisasca, president of Lifeboat Events. “Registration opened less than a month ago, and already we have a solid line-up of retailers, with more registering every day. And our exhibitor list is strong as well. Come July 29, we expect to have 25 brands at the event.”
