Sidi America Launches New Web Site

Published January 18, 2010

MARINA, CA (BRAIN)—Sidi America has launched a new consumer Web site at http://sidiamerica.com (click on link). The site provides information and community interaction for consumers regarding the shoe brand’s products, technical information and history.

“We’re very appreciative of how passionate American cyclists are about Sidi,” said Sidi America president Al Budris. “They know it’s the best European-made shoe distributed in the USA and they know that the brand has been around since champions like Francesco Moser and Bernard Hinault were winning races on Sidis. We realized that our customers wanted to know more, so we’re offering an opportunity for them to become more involved with the brand. Our job is to help bring Sidi’s 50-year history, as cycling’s pioneer in fit-technology, closer to American cyclists.”

In addition to sizing and product information on Sidi shoes, accessories, clothing and other goodies, sidiamierca.com offers integrated Web 2.0 functionality. Features like an interactive FAQ, Ask The Sidi Pros section, athlete features and a globe-trotting Twitter stream, from Sidi America product manager Sara Ecclesine, allows cyclists to engage in a multi-way conversation with and about the Sidi brand, instead of just being spoon-fed press clips and canned presentations.

“We’re also planning some wonderful historic items of interest that most American cyclists have not seen,” Budris added. “We’ve got galleries in the works that will be showing Sidis, from the era of Moser and Hinault, through Andy Hampsten and Miguel Indurain, to today’s champions like Alberto Contador. Plus we’ll showcase mountain bike greats from Thomas Frischknecht to Julien Absalon. They’re all part of the great Sidi story.”
