Lifeboat Events to Hold DealerCamp in Utah

Published November 17, 2009

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA (BRAIN)—Lifeboat Events has announced plans to launch an outdoor expo and demo event next July in Deer Valley, Utah. DealerCamp will bring together industry suppliers and retailers who will be able to preview and test products on road loops and mountain trails just outside of Park City.

“The largest industry players have been hosting their own private summer dealer events for years,” said Lance Camisasca, who’s organizing the July 29-31 event. “DealerCamp will provide smaller but equally important companies a concentrated retailer audience at a critical time in advance of fall industry events.”

Camisasca will offer suppliers several exhibiting options and will work with participating companies to create a list of targeted retailers they would like to attend the event. Though all retailers are welcome to attend, a select group will have their travel expenses subsidized, including free lodging. Exhibitor pricing, retailer travel subsidy program and registration details had yet to be finalized.

“Our goals are modest. We hope to have 35 exhibiting companies in the first year,” Camisasca said. “But it could be more or less. If it ends up being 50 manufacturers, we’ll prepare for it.”

DealerCamp will be held at the Snow Park Lodge, which offers access to cross-country, downhill and road loops for product demos and is 45 minutes from the Salt Lake City international airport. Retailers will stay at the Park City Marriott, which is three miles from the resort. Organizers will work with exhibitors to supply loaner bikes and will arrange for free shuttles from Park City Transportation.

Earlier this year Lifeboat Events hosted PressCamp, its inaugural event, in Sun Valley, Idaho, inviting editors from 20 endemic and non-endemic magazines to see product and meet with 20 manufacturers. Building on that success, the company will once again hold PressCamp a month earlier in Deer Valley, while also offering DealerCamp, which targets a different audience.

“The industry has wanted something more intimate and casual for a while, so we’re really excited to offer DealerCamp,” Camisasca said. “Our aim is to provide a solid return on investment for manufacturers, suppliers and retailers alike.”
