New Cycling Conference with Different Feel

Published July 26, 2009

HERMOSA BEACH, CA (BRAIN)—A new cycling conference will debut this fall to generate a convergence of ideas from all aspects of business, marketing, economics, environment and trends that directly or indirectly affect the bicycle industry.

“The cycling industry doesn’t really have anything like this for its key influencers,” said Sergio Bravo, owner of Smith, Smith and Smith brand communications, the company responsible for putting the conference on. The communications firm also handles Magura’s public relations.

The “Cycle of Influence” Conference will feature non-endemic speakers, providing “new thoughts and new info” for bicycle industry attendees. The conference will also feature panel discussions.

“There are things to be taken away [from the non-endemics],” Bravo said. “New thoughts to stimulate the industry.”

Before launching this conference, Bravo reached out to key figures in the bicycle industry for feedback on such a venture.

“Almost to the last person I got a positive response,” Bravo said.

The “Cycle of Influence” Conference will take place at the PlumpJack Resort at Lake Tahoe, California’s Squaw Valley from October 21-22.
