Published July 9, 2009

IRVINE, CA (BRAIN)—Felt Bicycles bolstered its marketing team with the addition of media and communications veteran Kip Mikler. The former editor of VeloNews brings more than a decade’s worth of experience in cycling journalism and communications to Felt.

“We’re really excited to bring Kip on board,” said Felt marketing director Doug Martin. “His experience as a writer and editor covering road, mountain bike and other aspects of cycling culture make him a great fit for Felt.”

Mikler was the editor of VeloNews from 2001 through 2007. He left VeloNews in 2007 to become managing editor at Bike magazine, and most recently worked as the global marketing communications manager at Giant.

“I’m thrilled with this opportunity to join Felt,” Mikler said. “It’s a well-respected brand with talented people, quality products and some great stories to tell. I’ve known Doug since I was a rookie mountain bike reporter in the mid-1990s and he was running the legendary GT mountain bike team. I look forward to working with Doug and the rest of the Felt marketing team.”

Mikler will oversee all written communications for the Felt brand, including Web sites, marketing materials and advertising campaigns. He will be based out of Felt’s U.S. headquarters in Irvine, California.
