Auction Benefitting World Bicycle Relief

Published June 4, 2009

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (BRAIN)—The Kelly Benefit Strategies Pro Cycling team is auctioning off a "hot lap" in the team car to benefit World Bicycle Relief. The winner of the eBay-based auction, which started yesterday, will get behind the scenes access to all the action as the KBS pro cycling team race in the 25th Annual TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship on Sunday.

"We're really excited about this Philly hot lap with the Kelly Benefit Strategies Pro Cycling Team," said F.K. Day, president of World Bicycle Relief. "The team has been so supportive of our efforts, and this is one more way to spread The Power of Bicycles."

The hot lap auction is currently live and will end tomorrow at 2:36 pm Eastern time. Visit www.kbsprocycling.com (click on link) and click on the eBay link to bid.

The KBS Pro Cycling Team has also committed to raising awareness and funds for World Bicycle Relief throughout their 2009 season. The partnership will see KBS athletes promoting the organization’s work and then traveling to Africa after the season ends to witness first-hand how funds are put into action.

"We’re an international program from the races we attend to the causes we care about,” said Jonas Carney, performance director. “This is just one more way we are trying to spread the word about the great work World Bicycle Relief does. Plus we’re excited to give one race fan the ride of their life in one of the biggest races in North America today.”
