PHILADELPHIA, PA (BRAIN)—Advanced Sports has hired Mike Gann for the newly created position of director of product development. Gann will oversee product processes for all of ASI’s brands including Fuji , Kestrel, SE and Breezer.

“Mike brings extensive experience in many aspects of bicycle manufacturing including product development process, BOM architecture and purchasing. He has already-established vendor and manufacturing relationships as well as an overall branding awareness that will help keep ASI’s product lines on target as we move forward,” said Patrick Cunnane, president of ASI.

Gann joins ASI from Dynamic Brands, where he was the product director for the Bag Boy golf product division. Prior to that, he was the vice president of operations at Titus Cycles, Inc. He has also worked with American Bicycle Group as an inventory control manager.

After graduating from the University of Florida with a business degree, Gann worked as the manager for Mack Cycle before purchasing his own IBD, the Bike Route in Gainesville, Florida.

An avid cyclist who still competes on occasion, Gann said, “I am excited to get back into the bicycle industry. It’s especially exciting to work for a company that is on a fast growth track. I look forward to the challenge and the opportunity.”

In his new role, Gann will be working with overseas manufacturing facilities to help create efficiencies in product development. He will also be managing a team of product and brand managers while working closely with the marketing, sales and operations departments at ASI.
