Physician to be Tried for Hitting Cyclists

LOS ANGELES, CA (BRAIN)—A 59-year-old physician who said he stopped his red Infiniti sedan in front of two cyclists to "teach them a lesson" on July 4 will stand trial.

He faces one felony count of reckless driving causing injury and two felony counts of battery with serious injury.

Christopher Thomas Thompson complained that cyclists frequently traveled down Mandeville Canyon Road in Brentwood and that he was "tired of them," Los Angeles Police officer Robert Rodriguez said.
