QBP's Flagg Wins National Recognition

Published November 24, 2008

BLOOMINGTON, MN (BRAIN)—Steve Flagg, the president of Quality Bicycle Products, was named a national finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008 Award in the Retail and Consumer Products category.

Ernst & Young feted the winners and finalists at an awards gala in Palm Springs, California last weekend.

“This award represents the talent and hard work of hundreds of QBP employees,” Flagg said. “Over the years, we’ve built a culture where people can grow and thrive, both professionally and personally. In the beginning, Mary Henrickson focused on creating a high integrity organization that never compromised its values. We are proof that living ones values can lead to a high performance culture.”

Quality Bicycle Products is the industry’s leading parts and accessories distributor with 28,000 SKUs from 450 suppliers. Flagg and Henrickson built the company from scratch, starting in 1981.

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards program honors entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success through innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

This has been a big year for QBP. The company also won the 2008 Governor’s Award back in March for its green efforts.

The award recognizes Minnesota businesses, nonprofits, government and institutions for environmental achievements.
