"When you slipped one past ol' Russert, you felt as though you had hit a home run off the best pitcher in the league. I just loved Tim and I will miss him more than I can say." —Bob Schieffer, host of CBS' "Face the Nation," to the Associated Press on competing with the late Tim Russert.

Russert, the longtime host of NBC's "Meet the Press," who was regarded as one of the top television interviewers in the business, collapsed and died while working in Washington D.C. last Friday. He was 58.
