Deutsche Telekom Ends Sponsorship

Published November 28, 2007

BONN, Germany (BRAIN)—T-Mobile, a division of telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom AG, has terminated its sponsorship of both men’s and women’s professional cycling teams.

Giant Bicycle, a proud partner and co-sponsor of the T-Mobile Team since 2004, is disappointed by this announcement. But as a consequence of this decision by T-Mobile, Giant is currently evaluating future partnership opportunities.

“We will make a fresh start,” said Tony Lo, Giant CEO. “We’ll evaluate future sponsorship opportunities with programs that are committed to a high level of clean and fair competition.”

With a long-term commitment in supporting the sport of cycling at every major discipline, Giant Bicycle has partnered with riders and teams at the highest level of competition to develop and bring the best products to market. “Giant has a rich history of partnering with some of cycling’s best teams, dating back to the ONCE Team in 1998, and we have a deep passion and commitment to the sport,” said Lo.
