SAN FRANCISCO, CA (BRAIN)—Timbuk2 hired Mike Fowler as its new chief operating officer.

Fowler, who has more than 15 years of sales, marketing and operational experience with top-selling outdoor brands ranging from Patagonia and Pearl Izumi, to Kelty and Moonstone, said that he’s looking forward to working with a brand that has such a celebrated heritage.

“Timbuk2 is a gem because many the products are still made in San Francisco. We will look to expand our operation in San Francisco and offer additional customizable products and experiences for all our sales channels,” Fowler said.

Timbuk2 chief executive officer Perry Klebahn said, “This move fills a very important piece of the senior management here and an experience level in operations that I do not think the company has never had.”

As COO, Fowler will be responsible for managing the company’s design, development, product forecasting, inventory, supply chain, product line merchandising, customer service and distribution.

“My early objectives will focus on service levels, improving delivery rates, improving product quality and stabilizing the operational aspects of the business,” Fowler said.
