Fat Tire Flyer is a first-person account of the birth of mountain biking

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — "Fat Tire Flyer: Repack and the Birth of Mountain Biking," is a new hardcover book published by VeloPress this fall. 

The book was written by Charlie Kelly, the sport's first journalist and the co-founder of the MountainBikes brand with Gary Fisher. Kelly is also famous as the organizer of the Repack races in Marin County, California.

The book recounts the history of the rise of mountain biking and its lasting culture as told by those who were there. It contains first-hand descriptions and original photographs, drawings, and memorabilia.
