Fasterkatt winter cycling shoe

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (BRAIN) — 45NRTH's new Fasterkatt shoe is designed for winter cycling, including cold weather cyclocross.

The shoes were designed for water resistance, moisture regulation, and comfort in the 25 to 45 degree range. They have a waterproof membrane and rubberized textile shell that extends above the ankle. A proprietary insole is built with arch support and uses heat-reflective aluminum with wool felt to keep feet warm.

The Fasterkatt is said to be the first cycling shoe to use microglass outsole rubber technology to enhance surface traction while walking or running on slippery surfaces. The bottom of the shoe is sealed to prevent moisture from coming in through the cleat slots.

“Most cleated cycling shoes are built with unsealed cleat pockets and mesh uppers," said David Gabrys, 45North Brand Manager. "We’ve been watching people modify their shoes and shoe covers for years, telling us there was a clear need for something better suited for transition season cycling. With Fasterkatt we created a performance shoe that eliminates the need for shoe covers and adds features that specifically address demands for enhanced comfort and control.” 

Available in sizes 38,39,40,41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48 and 50. 

The shoe will be available in October and retail for $225.
