Coach Joe Friel authors power training book

Published October 2, 2012

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — Joe Friel, author of the The Cyclist's Training Bible and The Triathlete's Training Bible, has published a new book with VeloPress, The Power Meter Handbook.

The book offers a simplified approach to using a power meter for road cycling, triathlons, time trials, century rides, and Gran Fondos. Preview the book at www.velopress.com/power.

The book contains Friel's recommended ways to set up a power meter for specific uses. By focusing on the most important numbers, cyclists and triathletes will discover hidden pockets of power, find ways to improve their pacing, and find out how many "matches" they can burn on any given day.

The book includes weekly training schedules for road racing, time trials, triathlons, and century rides.

The 240-page paperback contains charts and tables. Suggested retail is $16.95.
