ASI takes customers and reps to China for sales meeting

Published June 12, 2014

PHILADELPHIA (BRAIN) — Advanced Sports International, the parent company of Fuji, SE, Kestrel, Breezer, and Oval Concepts,  is taking more than 100 of its distributors and U.S. sales representatives to China for its 2014 International Sales Meeting beginning Monday.

The meeting will take place at the Dongguan, China, factory of Ideal Bike Corp., ASI's strategic manufacturing partner and the third-largest bicycle manufacturer in the world. Headquartered in Taichung, Taiwan, Ideal opened its Dongguan factory in 2006 in the Shenzou District of southern China.

ASI employees, sales reps and distributors from 35 different countries will tour the factory, watch live production and gain insight on the product development process, the company said.  ASI will unveil its 2015 model lines, with more than 400 samples across the company's five brands available for viewing.

"I'm really excited about the opportunity to show our customers and employees the manufacturing side of our business," said ASI president and CEO Pat Cunnane. "They'll get to physically see what goes into the final product – how many steps it takes, how many hands touch each bike along the way. Seeing the production process in person provides such an important perspective on our brands and bikes, and it is certain to help our sales staff and customers better tell ASI's story."
