Published August 13, 2013

SYDNEY, Australia (BRAIN) — WD-40's Australian division has launched its bike products in the country, including its lubes, degreasor, foaming bike wash and frame polish and protectant.

"The WD-40 brand is definitely no stranger to bicycling," said Mike Irwin, managing partner of WD-40 Bike Company. "The original WD-40 Multi-Use Product has been a mainstay in the toolboxes of bike mechanics for decades. The new WD-40 Bike line blends our considerable experience with the demands of today's bike technology to present a comprehensive, high-performance maintenance package. Making our products available in Australia is a significant and exciting milestone for our team."

Dawson Sports Group has been appointed as the exclusive distributor for WD-40 Bike products in the Australian bike market. DSG, a specialist cycle wholesaler and importer, supports more than 500 bicycle retailers Australia-wide.

“This is an exciting extension to the WD-40 brand and we are pleased to have the specialised skills of DSG in support,” said Geoff Holdsworth, managing Director of WD-40 Company (Australia) Pty Ltd.

WD-40 Bike will make its Australian public debut at the Scott 24 Hour (Canberra), Oct. 5-6.

Dawson Sports Group is a privately owned bicycle wholesaler and importer based on Sydney’s northern beaches. DSG lines include Fibreflare optic lights, Torhans aero hydration, Praxis Works drive chain specialists and Salsa Cycles.
