SRAM begins urban parts production in Taiwan

Published March 1, 2013

SCHWEINFURT, Germany (BRAIN) — SRAM has begun production of a new range of urban bike parts at a factory in Dali, Taiwan. The new line was developed over the course of 22 months at SRAM's facility in Schweinfurt, Germany, where the company has traditionally manufactured much of its internal gear products.

The line includes a new 8-speed internal gear hub, the SRAM G8, which is said to feature even gear spacing paired with fast, responsive shifts. The hub also features "Smart Coasterbrake Technology" for improved braking response. The G8 is intended for everyday riding and all-weather conditions.
