Shimano Strengthens European Product Teams

NUNSPEET, the Netherlands—Shimano has created two new product teams to coordinate development of new technology for the Shimano and Pro brands out of the company's European headquarters in the Netherlands.

Bas van Dooren has been named the new product coordination for Shimano products including components, wear-out parts, wheels, shoes and pedals.

He’s worked for the company since 2002 first as a sales rep then working as OEM sales manager for the Benelux and northern Germany for the past five years. He will be supported by three product coordinators: Hisataka Takada, Tim Gerrits and Walter Vrijkorte.

For Shimano's Pro accessories brand, Marcel Gerritsen has been appointed team leader product development and coordination. He’s worked for Shimano since 1998 as a technical representative and started as product manager for Pro in 2001. The team also includes product developers Leon van Strien, Bas Schaapveld and Anton Nijhuis, as well as product coordinators Ezechiël Kruijer and Arnold Tuinman.
