Currie launches online store with Shopatron

Published April 4, 2013

SIMI VALLEY, CA (BRAIN) — Currie Technologies announced Wednesday that it has launched an online store in partnership with Shopatron.

Consumers will be able to buy directly from the currietech.com website and the orders will be sent to Currie’s dealers for fulfillment to the consumer.

The program allows Currie to manage online pricing and promotions to maintain dealer margins and consumers avoid delivery and freight charges. Dealers closest to the consumer who have the item in stock get the first shot at fulfilling the order. Dealers are paid directly by Shopatron.

“Shopatron’s retailer-focused fulfillment solution will complement the high volume of web searches within the emerging e-bike market,” said Rob Kaplan, Currie’s vice president of sales.  “Consumers go to the web to look for and research electric bikes, and often want to make the purchase from the comfort of their home or office. Currie strongly believes that the optimal customer experience is one in which the e-bike is professionally assembled and delivered to the end user by one of our specialty retailers. Shopatron will allow us to capture the sale at the decision-making moment, and still offer the benefits of local dealer service and fulfillment,” Kaplan said.

Currie dealers can sign up to participate online and should contact their Currie representative for details.
