North America's biggest bicycling event ushers in Bike Month with 32,000 cyclists whooshing through 42 miles of New York City streets. The TD Bank Five Boro Bike Tour Presented by Eastern Mountain Sports is produced by Bike New York, the city's premiere bicycling organization, in association with the City of New York and the New York City Department of Transportation. Participating cyclists will experience New York City from a perspective unlike any other: pedaling through all five boroughs on streets that are closed to motorized traffic for the day, taking in views of iconic landmarks, musical entertainment, and an awesome ride.
After last year’s 24-hour sellout, Bike New York is switching to a lottery registration system allowing everyone a fair and equal chance to ride the 2012 TD Five Boro Bike Tour presented by Eastern Mountain Sports. The lottery will open January 17 at 10:00 a.m. and close at February 7 at 5:00 p.m. Those who registered for the lottery will be notified whether they were chosen or not soon after the lottery closes and will be given a week to complete registration and secure a spot in the 2012 TD Five Boro Bike Tour. People can register for the lottery in groups of four people max.
