Castelli offers SanRemo Speedsuit for 'cross

Published August 2, 2012

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) Friday August 3 2012—Castelli is introducing a cyclocross-specific speedsuit based on the brand's SanRemo Speedsuit used by pro road teams.

The SanRemo SpeedSuit CX is a jersey-and-shorts combo with an upper part that is essentially a full-zip jersey attached to the shorts around the rear and sides. When zipped up, the design prevents bunching up of fabric on the chest. When unzipped, the design allows more airflow than a regular skinsuit.

The CX version is cut to allow the range of motion needed for cyclocross, with a longer center front and more shoulder room. The chamois is positioned further back than on road suits to prevent it catching on the saddle during remounts. The CX model also has a large zipper pull that can be grabbed with muddy gloves.

The suit is available with fleecy Thermoflex fabric and long sleeves for cold conditions, or Lycra with three-quarter length sleeves for warmer conditions.

The suits will be available to consumers in September. They are available for custom orders now with delivery in eight weeks through Castelli's Servizio Corse program.
